Enemas For Colon Cleanse
June 24, 2008 |
Many of us are not thrilled about the idea of using an enema, but enemas are a safe and effective way to perform colon cleansing with little to no side effects. This is also a great way to cleanse the colon without the side effects of laxatives. It may be the best solution for people with diabetes or other chronic conditions that prevent them from following a colon cleanse diet that is not recommended for them.
Enemas are often used in hospitals and nursing homes as a colon cleanse treatment. Although in health care facilities they are generally used to remove blocks or help move bowels when someone is constipated, they also have the added effect of leaving the colon clean. One safe, inexpensive method uses simply a warm, saline solution. About three cups of a simple saline solution at a comfortable temperature can be added to an enema bag and used at home.
Some people add castile soap as it can help remove blockages and stubborn fecal matter. You may also get more results by using a higher volume of the saline solution.
Another old recipe for enemas that is truly effective is made with milk and molasses. Combine one cup of whole milk with one cup of molasses. Of course, you will need to warm the mixture. This natural solution works because of the lubricating effects of the milk combined with the chemical effects of the molasses. Make sure to warm the mixture enough to make the molasses liquidify without getting it too hot.
There are many enemas on the market, but many of them contain harsh chemicals and cost more than they need to. Hence, it is important that you look through the ingredients to make sure that they are natural ones and will not cause your body harm.
