Is the process of detox a fad, or is it something your loved ones may need? Many people don’t believe detoxification is necessary. They may walk around complaining that they are always tired or have chronic headaches, and yet they think detoxification is a silly fad. What they don’t understand is that the following common symptoms may indicate the need for detoxification:
• Skin Problems
• ‘Fuzzy Head’
• Bloating
• Sinus problems
• Bad breath
• Mood Instability
• Sleep Problems
• Stomach Problems/ Heart burn
• Fatigue
They may wonder why they are having symptoms of toxins in their system. If they keep a clean home in an average neighborhood with clean water, they may not expect that they have toxins. Perhaps they equate people with toxic issues to people living in smog filled cities who eat fast food on a regular basis. If you think about it, toxins can be from pollutants from your own car and home as well as toxins you encounter in the work place. Many toxic substances are beyond our control. Even allergies to natural things such as dust mites or pollen can act as toxins to your body.
When starting a skeptical friend on a detox program, consider starting with something simple like adding lemon to their diet several times a day and having them try a diet of foods for detox; such as cabbage, fish, and plenty of clean water. If you start them immediately with a glass of salt and lime, you may lose them before they even start!
It can be frustrating to deal with loved ones who are experiencing symptoms from toxins who won’t help themselves when you can easily see how a detoxification diet, liver cleanse, or kidney cleanse would make them feel much better. But, sometimes you have to start slow and show them how well it works by example. Once they see you living better, they may be ready to take steps toward their own lifestyle of detox.
