The word ‘fat’ has almost become a dirty word these days. When we think of fat, we generally think of the ‘bad’ kinds of fat that clog the arteries, add unwanted pounds, and clog the colon. There are ‘good’ kinds of fat that will help you in your effort for colon cleansing.

Even though bacon grease may taste great, it will work against your goals for heart health and a clean colon. Try to add more Omega 3 fatty acids to your diet. This can be done painlessly with some kinds of fish and flax seeds.

Supplements are available, but you can add it to your diet easily. A nice piece of salmon grilled with lemon and herbs is not only tasty, but it provides omega 3 fatty acids. Flax seeds are easy to add to cereal, bread, and other recipes. Make sure to chop them to release their nutritional value. Normally, a flax seed is likely to pass through the body undigested.

These healthful oils lubricate your digestive tract and allow for the easy passing of waste material. Unlike other fats that clog the colon, these healthy fats cleanse the colon and aid in digestion.

As good as the foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids may be, you may not have the time or cooking skills to provide yourself with a steady input of these foods. There are supplements available at health food stores and even at the grocery store that contain fish oil and flax oil. This is a quick and easy way to add this to your diet.

Colon cleansing on a daily basis can be done by adding omega 3 fatty acids to your diet on a regular basis. A piece of salmon at a restaurant once a month is not enough. Try to add a steady supply for your ongoing well being and colon health.
