How A Skin Cleanse Helps To Detoxify Your Entire Body
April 10, 2008 | Leave a Comment
A skin cleanse is a great way to achieve healthy, glowing skin and to diminish imperfections, such as blemishes. This alone is a great reason to go through a skin detox program. What you may not know is that the detoxification of your skin can have far reaching affects on your entire bodily system.
When asking people what the largest organ of the human body is, you may get answers like, ‘the liver’ or ‘the lungs’. It is easy to forget that the skin is an essential organ and it is the largest organ you have. It is responsible for maintaining our ‘boundaries’ with the outside world. Keeping our skin healthy is not simply a matter of vanity or ego. If there are detox diets for the internal organs, shouldn’t there be detox diets for the largest organ of the body?
Surprisingly enough, one of the best ways to achieve detoxification of the skin is by performing a liver detox. The health of your skin is dependent on the health of your liver. When the liver is not functioning properly, the results will be apparent in your skin. A great liver cleansing program is also a great skin cleansing program.
Exfoliating the skin has long been spoken of to keep the skin looking vibrant. Now we are beginning to understand that skin brushing allows the skin to better eliminate waste. Skin brushing can be done in the shower with a loofah. By using a medium/soft brush, a person can also stimulate circulation and remove dead skin with dry brushing. Rather than spending money on expensive treatments, you can make a paste of oatmeal to use as an exfoliant in the shower or bath. You can add a little natural scent if you like to bathe with pleasant smelling soaps. Try a touch of lemon zest or some lavender.
A skin cleanse is not just for beauty queens. Men and women of all shapes, sizes, and ages will look and feel better with very little effort by taking better care of their skin
